Le Boutique is owned and run by Joanne - a mom of two who has always had a passion for fashion! She first opened the doors in March 2012 and here’s how it all began…
Jo had a passion for fashion and decided to set up mobile clothes parties. She bought a couple of suitcases, a few rails and borrowed some money to buy stock. Her first clothes party was a success and everything sold out! Seeing how she was able to provide something for women of all ages and all sizes, she continued to do the parties at family and friend houses. Every single space in Jo’s house was now taken up by clothes so she decided to start looking for a premises to expand and open her own Boutique, something she'd always dreamed of. A local shop popped up on the market and off she went to view it, imagining how her hidden gem would look, she went for it straight away even though she was told by many that ‘it would never work’.
Jo started off all by herself with help from family and friends. Now here we are 8 years later and we're a team with the best customers we could ask for! But it doesn’t stop there as we’re still growing, last year we decided to take our passion for fashion online and set up our own website. Juggling the shop and online hasn’t been easy trust me but we make it work. We make sure our customer service is 10/10 and our main focus is to make our customers happy when they shop with us whether it be online or in the Boutique.
We like to think of Le Boutique as a friendly place. Most of our customers have now become friends. We see them on a regular basis and most of them ring the shop to order something, but end up being on the phone for 45 mins – I feel like we should open a LB chatline haha.
During the pandemic, we have done exceptionally well online. Many styles have sold out in under an hour because shopping makes us feel better, so why not treat ourselves while all this is going on?
We will now be extending our styles and adding more online – but don’t worry the Boutique isn’t going anywhere, we're just going to keep the two separate so if you see something online the chances are you won't see it in the shop.
We do hope you’re all staying as safe as possible, looking after yourselves/family and looking after your mental health.
Lots of love LB ladies xx
